My weavings are a collection of moments to be read line by line.
Nicole Bunting is a fiber and mixed media artist who lives in Richmond, Virginia. She is the owner and writer behind Warped Fibers where she shares weaving information, tips, projects, and tutorials!
She has a BFA in Craft and Material Studies with a concentration in fibers from Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) and an AFA in Studio Art from The School of Art + Design at Montgomery College. Nicole teaches weaving classes and workshops in the Richmond area, online courses you can take anywhere, and has written multiple weaving e-books! Her classes cover many different aspects of weaving including tapestry, rigid heddle weaving, and more. Most of her in-person classes are at art centers and yarn shops in her area, but she also previously taught Introduction to Textiles and Intermediate Textiles as an adjunct at VCU.
Check out Warped Fibers for a list of her current classes.
You can find her weaving e-books and online courses here.
Nicole likes to travel whenever she gets the chance and when she is lucky these places prove to inspire her. Some of her favorite adventures have led to her experiencing the slot canyons and red rocks in Arizona and Utah, the stalactites and rimstone in Luray Caverns, Virginia, and the Baltic rocks of the Alcantara Gorge in Sicily. It is these places that she pulls from her memory to include in her work.
Besides her love for art, Nicole is also an avid foodie, nature enthusiast, and dog lover. Her own English Bulldog (Cue) and Pit Bull (Chutney) are always by her side.
